History and administration
Mexico City Stadium is located at Calz. de Tlalpan 3465 (Sta Úrsula Coapa, Coyoacán, 04650 Ciudad de México). Briefly renamed Estadio Guillermo Cañedo in the 90s, this monument is globally known by the nickname "El Coloso de Santa Úrsula," a title reflecting its monumental reinforced concrete structure built on ancient volcanic rock. Often called the "Temple of Football" for hosting two legendary finals, it will host matches for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
